16. Thank You Letter

Directions: Create a thank you letter using your letterhead template.

  1. Save this document as thank_you.docx in the writing folder.
  2. Link thank_you.docx to the writing homepage.
  3. Assume that you received a response from the company that you wrote to in your business letter.
  4. Write a thank you letter to the company thanking them for the information that they sent you.
  5. Make the thank you letter sincere and show appreciation.
  6. Include the company's real mailing address.
  7. Include a date, inside address, salutation, body, closing, and space for a hand written signature.
  8. Use a minimum of three paragraphs and a minimum of four sentences per paragraph.
  9. Use single spaced block paragraphs and skip one line between paragraphs.
  10. Spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors must not distract the reader.
  11. The letter must be organized and easy to read.
  12. Advanced students that receive a response from the company may add an envelope to the document, print, and send the thank you letter.
